Sclerotherapy in Action

What causes varicose veins?

Varicose veins form when the blood flow from your legs does not flow properly. Blood should flow up and down your legs easily without coming across any obstacles. When your legs are elevated the blood should readjust and flow higher up in your legs, when you are walking the blood should be able to circulate down and up as it is needed.

When the blood isn't following properly varicose veins are formed. The blood inside the veins begin to become congested and follow being to form. The veins also start to twist and turn in hopes of helping the blood move more freely. Soon the veins have so many twists, that the blood begins to pool in the dips of each turn. The blood is soon trapped and causes the veins to expand.

The treatment video above from Advanced Vein Therapy shows a patient being treated with a new procedure to help reduce varicose veins and move the  blood to new veins. While varicose veins can't be cured, treating them can be very beneficial.

Varicose Vein Treatments

No one should have to suffer with varicose veins. Not only are varicose veins unappealing to the eye, they can also be very painful. While varicose veins more heavily affect women, men are also the victims of these so called flooded veins.

While in days past doctor's suggested elevating your legs and wearing tight socks, treatment options for varicose veins have evolved over time including treatments like Sclerotherapy. While wearing tight sock and elevating your legs are both beneficial treatments for varicose veins, doctor's have greatly expanded vein treatment options.

Rather than allowing twisted, puffy veins from controlling what you wear and the activities you feel comfortable participating in, find a doctor that can treat your veins and help you on your way to having smooth veins once again.
